Apparently there are a few things that I tend to say A LOT. Caleb has brought this to my attention as he will now tell me:
-Hold on
-Just a minute
-Not right now
-I need some space ( this one really made me laugh)
-I’m busy
-Stop that
- No hitting ( he tells Leland this when hes about to get pummeled)
-Be nice
- Eat it all gone
I am sure there are more overly repeated phrases but these are the ones Caleb will use when he is playing . Generally I will hear them when hes playing with his little construction men, or trying to boss his brother around. none of these phrases really bother me except the “I’m busy” one, I really don’t want to be too busy for my kids, but what are you going to do when your trying to sweep up a mess and in the mist of that someone wants you to get them some water, or go up stairs with them? I guess at some point they will learn when Mommy can or can’t play. It just kinda sucks that I can’t be truly available to them ALL the time.
